It is an honour and a privilege to serve as the 67th president of the Durham Region Home Builders' Association (DRHBA). The Association formed in 1953, and the presidents and boards that came before me have worked hard to promote and advocate for the home building industry. During my tenure as president, I am looking forward to continuing to promote and grow the Association, in addition to advocating on your behalf to help the home building industry in Durham Region become stronger and better than ever before.
Together with our exceptional board and staff, I hope to move the Association forward, to help cut through the red tape that surrounds our industry, to increase our Association's membership and to encourage membership participation in our many networking events.
The Association's strives to achieve dynamic housing choice by providing our consumers with affordable, high-quality, functional, and more efficient homes. Together, we work toward keeping the dream of home ownership viable for future generations in Durham Region.
It is vital that our voice is heard at every level of government when issues affecting our industry are being discussed. As more regulations are introduced, it's important for us to make sure that they are fair and conducive to providing affordable housing in Durham Region.
Our members make this Association what it is. It's exciting that we have members from all areas of the home building industry, including builders, developers, trades, suppliers and professionals. I'm looking forward to increasing our membership rolls and providing more networking opportunities and exciting events for our members to take part in. We have a lot of great events coming up this year, including dinner and lunch meetings, our very popular golf tournament and the annual Awards of Excellence ceremony. With your participation in these events, our Association will grow and flourish.
I am looking forward to my time as the president of the DRHBA and I encourage you to contact me with any issues or concerns you may have.
